ジョーキーボール競技人口の増加を期待して

ジョーキーボール世界大会の開催を心よりお慶び申し上げます。

アジア初の世界大会の開催にご尽力された一般社団法人日本ジョーキーボール協会の加治木英隆代表理事をはじめ関係者の皆様に深く敬意を表します。

ジョーキーボールは1980年代にフランスで誕生した新たな競技ですが、別名「フィットネス・サッカー」とも呼ばれ、子供から大人まで、男女問わず、全天候型で、気軽に楽しめるスポーツです。

私自身、高校時代はサッカー部でボールを追いかけ、現在でもサッカー外交推進議員連盟の一員としてサッカーやフットサルで汗を流しておりますが、コンパクトな空間で壁や天井を巧みに利用してシュートやパスを行うスピード感やテクニカルな要素はジョーキーボールならではの魅力であり、今後我が国においてもその普及が大いに期待されるところです。

本大会を契機としてジョーキーボールの魅力が多くの方に伝わり、我が国におけるジョーキーボール競技人口の増加につながることを祈念し、私からのメッセージとさせていただきます。

Expecting an increase of Jorkyball players

I heartily congratulate the JORKYBALL WORLD COMPETITIONS to be held in Japan.

I would like to express my deepest respect to everyone involved, including Hidetaka Kajiki, the director of the Japan Jokyball Association, who worked really hard for the Jorkyball World Competition to be held for the first time in Asia.

Jokyball is a new sport originated in France in the 1980s, also known as “fitness soccer”. It is a sport that men and women of all ages can enjoy easily under any weather conditions.

In my high school days, I used to chase the ball as a member of soccer club. Now I still work a sweat playing soccer and futsal as a member of the Soccer Diplomacy League. A technical attack that uses the walls as a part of the court for bouncing the ball in a compact space is one of the attractive features of Jorkyball and it is hoped that the Jorkyball will become common in Japan in the future.

I hope that this Competition will be a great chance to appeal Jorkyball attraction to many people and I also hope that it will be a good opportunity to increase the number of players in Japan.
