世界に挑んだ日本代表。2026ジョーキーボールワールドカップを終えて

2026年7月、カナダ・ケベック州で開催された「JORKYBALL WORLD CUP 2026」に、日本代表として出場してまいりました。世界6カ国の代表チーム、そして各国の強豪クラブチームが集結する舞台で、日本は国別ワールドカップとクラブワールドカップの両カテゴリーに挑戦しました。

国別ワールドカップ

国別ワールドカップでは、開催国カナダ、世界王者フランス、そしてイタリアと対戦。結果は6カ国中6位という悔しいものとなりましたが、世界トップレベルのスピード、戦術、判断力を肌で感じることができたことは、何にも代えがたい財産となりました。

クラブワールドカップ

一方、クラブワールドカップでは、日本代表クラブ「SANXTUS」が過去最高となる予選突破を果たし、17チーム中8位という成績を収めました。

上位トーナメントではフランス王者「VALENCIENNES」と対戦し惜しくも敗れましたが、第2セットはあと1点まで迫る白熱したゲームとなり、日本の実力が確実に世界へ近づいていることを示す大会となりました。

2026ジョーキーボールワールドカップを終えて

今回の遠征では、試合結果だけでなく、海外選手との交流や競技運営の視察、今後の普及活動につながるネットワークづくりなど、多くの成果を得ることができました。また、大会映像や写真なども多数収集し、今後の育成や情報発信に活用していきます。

ジョーキーボールは、壁を使ったスピーディーな攻防が魅力の競技です。世界では競技人口が増え続けていますが、日本ではまだ発展途上にあります。だからこそ、今回得た経験を日本国内へ持ち帰り、競技レベルの向上はもちろん、多くの方にジョーキーボールの魅力を知っていただく活動へつなげていきたいと考えています。

今後は、Instagram・TikTok・YouTubeなどを活用した継続的な情報発信、定期的な練習会や国内大会の開催、少年サッカークラブへの普及活動、さらには「みやまジョーキーボールパーク」の活性化などにも積極的に取り組み、次回ワールドカップではさらに高いステージを目指します。

Japan Takes on the World – Looking Back on the JORKYBALL WORLD CUP 2026

In July 2026, Team Japan proudly competed in the JORKYBALL WORLD CUP 2026, held in Quebec, Canada. The tournament brought together national teams from six countries as well as some of the world’s strongest club teams. Japan competed in both the National World Cup and the Club World Cup categories.

In the National World Cup, Japan faced the host nation Canada, reigning world champion France, and Italy. Although Japan finished 6th out of 6 nations, the experience of competing against the world’s elite—witnessing their speed, tactics, and decision-making firsthand—proved to be an invaluable opportunity for growth.

Meanwhile, in the Club World Cup, Japan’s representative club SANXTUS achieved its best-ever performance by advancing beyond the group stage and finishing 8th out of 17 teams. SANXTUS faced French champions VALENCIENNES in the knockout stage. Although the team was defeated, the second set was decided by just a single point, demonstrating that Japan is steadily closing the gap with the world’s best.

This tour was about much more than match results. We built friendships with players from around the world, observed international tournament operations, and established valuable connections that will support the future growth of Jorkyball in Japan. We also collected a wealth of photos and video footage that will be used for player development and promotional activities.

Jorkyball is an exciting sport characterized by its fast-paced action and the unique use of walls as part of the game. While the sport continues to grow internationally, it is still in the early stages of development in Japan. That is precisely why we are determined to bring back everything we learned from this tournament—not only to raise the competitive level in Japan but also to introduce more people to the excitement and appeal of Jorkyball.

Looking ahead, we will continue promoting the sport through Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, organize regular training sessions and domestic tournaments, expand outreach to youth football clubs, and further develop the Miyama Jorkyball Park. Our goal is to elevate Japanese Jorkyball to an even higher level and achieve greater success at the next World Cup.
